    • The XFL: A Second-Chance League and Its Not-My-First-Rodeo Commish
The original incarnation of Vince McMahon’s spring football league, nearly two decades ago, was an iconoclastic freak show that failed spectacularly. Now Oliver Luck, the embodiment of the sports establishment, is piloting the XFL’s staid and serious reboot. What makes him think it will succeed amid the rubble of so many predecessors?
      Sehr lesenswert.
"If Football doesn't work out behind the center, he is gonna be one heck of a football coach.
And I wouldn't want to play against his team!"

    • Another Head Coach Of New XFL Team Announced schrieb:

June Jones has been named the head coach and general manager for the XFL team based out of Houston, Texas.

Jones, 66, is a lifelong veteran of football. He played from 1971 to 1982 for multiple teams and began his coaching career in 1983. Jones was a former quarterback coach for the NFL's Houston Oilers from 1987-1988. He is also a former head coach of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons team (1994-1996) and the San Diego Chargers (1998).
Jones' overall NFL record as a coach was 22-36.

"We're extremely proud to add Coach Jones, a man with four decades in football, as an XFL head coach," said XFL Commissioner & CEO Oliver Luck in a press release. "June has coached the game in three different pro leagues, including the NFL, as well as major college and high school football. The experience he's gained at every stop along the way will no doubt serve him well as he helps us reimagine the game and build our Houston team into something special."

Jones joins Bob Stoops (Dallas), Winston Moss (Los Angeles), Kevin Gilbride (New York), Jim Zorn (Seattle), Jonathan Hayes (St. Louis), Marc Trestman (Tampa Bay) and Pep Hamilton (Washington D.C.) as other XFL head coaches.

      Minnesota Vikings 'Bromance' in 2018:
