NY Giants Offseason 2018

    Achja.....: Barkley :xywave::bier:

-Funny, so many Browns fans still clamor for the "safe pick" ignoring that all we've done for 15 years is the "safe pick".

"And when that turnaround happens, wherever I am, I will smile – more than a little bittersweetly – and say, to myself, “Go Browns!”

Will Hernandez is an absolute unit. Look at the size of this lad, and also how fun he is.

    GO BIG BLUE! GO GIANTS

( Mein Lieblingsspieler)

    LG

  • Dann erstmal Herzlich willkommen ;)

Time will Tell ;)

    I can, I will

  • New York Giants UDFA 2018 (Stand 01.05.2018)

    Sean Chandler, Safety, Temple
According to Josh Norris, the Giants sign Temple safety Sean Chandler.
Chandler, 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, started all 12 of Temple's games as a senior and finished with with 74 total tackles, 1.5 for loss, two interceptions, and three pass breakups.

    Spoiler anzeigen

Sean Chandler is the newest member of the New York Giants defense and the first undrafted rookie free agent to reportedly be signed by the franchise in what should be a frenzy of up to double-digit signings in the next 24 hours.
According to Rotoworld's Josh Norris, the Temple safety has signed with the Giants following the conclusion of the draft.
According to Pro Football Focus, Chandler was one of the most efficient tackling safeties in college football last season. This will be of key importance for the Giants when searching for their next safety after watching Darian Thompson struggle with missed tackles as the starter in 2017.
The Giants will be using a heavy percentage of single-heavy safety looks under new defensive coordinator James Bettcher. We've already seen this come into play during the Giants' three-day voluntary minicamp earlier this week when Bettcher first installed his defense.
Bettcher will use safety Landon Collins as a swiss army knife -- all over the field -- and that will put a lot of pressure on whoever ends up winning the job as the deep safety.
On the second day of minicamp, the Giants rotated in newly-acquired safeties Devin Thomas and Curtis Riley at safety. On the first day of minicamp, Thompson and Andrew Adams got the first-team reps at safety.
Chandler will push Thompson and the Giants' other safety for playing time as the team's deep safety right away.
Although Chandler's athleticism and testing at the Combine left much to be desired, which is why he will drop into the fifth round after initially being projected as a potential third-round pick based on game tape, scouts love his intangibles.
Chandler can immediately help on special teams as well. He was named All-American Atheltic Conference Second-Team safety by both the AAC and Phil Steele.
The 6-feet tall and 190-pound safety earned a third-round grade from some scouts, according to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, but he fell out of the 2018 NFL Draft altogether due to his poor testing times from an athletic standpoint.
Giants general manager Dave Gettleman has made it clear that he prioritizes high-character players with production on the field for his roster -- Chandler has both of those traits in spade.

    Aaron Davis, CB, Georgia
Art Stapleton reports that the Giants signed Georgia CB Aaron Davis.
Davis, 6-foot and 225 pounds, is a long cornerback who was a three-year starter at Georgia where he accumulated 184 total tackles, five interceptions, and 12 pass breakups
    .

    Spoiler anzeigen

The Giants signed Davis, according to Art Stapleton. Davis is a long and phsyical cornerback at 6-foot and 210 pounds who has a chance to latch on fast in James Bettcher's new defense that will feature press-man coverage.
Davis is a personal favorite among draftniks of Pro Football Focus. He ranked as their No. 22 cornerback overall in their final 2018 NFL Draft Guide.
Davis finished just one spot in the rankings behind cornerback Duke Dawson who the Patriots selected at No. 56 overall in the second round of the draft.
PFF called Davis an intriguing player who does everything well on game tape but might not have the speed/athleticism to translate ot the NFL -- that's why he went undrafted -- similar to Chandler -- noticing the theme for new general manager Dave Gettleman?
He doesn't care much for the underwear olympics known as the NFL Combine -- he's all about the game tape. Davis has experience in the slot and that could be where he competes right away to play for the Giants.

    Nick Gates, OT, Nebraska
It was a surprise when the Giants didn't draft an offensive tackle, but they signed Nick Gates of Nebraska as an undrafted free agent,
according to multiple reports. He was a two-time Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection before leaving school early.

    Spoiler anzeigen

Gates signed with the Giants, per NJ Advance Media. The early-draft entrant was a two-time All-Big Ten Honroable Mention at offensive tackle before deciding to declare early.
He wasn't greeted with the love in the draft that he was expecting, but the 6-foot-5 and 307-pound offensive lineman which above-average game tape fell out of the draft after testing in the 2nd percentile (athletically) at The Combine.
Gates was a 12-game starter for Nebraska in 2017. Gates played almost every single one of the team's offensive snaps during the past three seasons at Nebraska.

    Grant Haley, CB, Penn State
The Giants signed Penn State cornerback Grant Haley, according to multiple reports.
He had two interceptions and two sacks as a senior captain in 2017
but is best known for returning a blocked field goal 60 yards for a touchdown in an upset of Ohio State in 2016, when Penn State won the Big Ten title.
He will be reunited with college teammate Saquon Barkley.

    Spoiler anzeigen

Haley is one of our favorite players to sign after the draft and Giants on 247Sports is high on his chances of contributing early on as a slot cornerback after a productive career at Penn State.
Haley is one of those defensive backs who always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to make a big play.
The 5-foot-9 and 190-pound defensive back was a three-year starter at cornerback and was never afraid to attack down on the line of scrimmage -- he had 6 1/2 career tackles for loss.
Haley also had five career interceptions and the famous blocked field goal touchdown return against Ohio State in 2016. Haley also posted big-time numbers in coverage.
According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed just a 41.7 passer rating against. Unlike the other undrafted free agents the Giants have since signed,
Haley also backed up his strong college production at the Combine with a 4.44 40-yard dash and one of the best 3-cone times (6.51) displaying elite short-area quickness.
Wants the cherry on top? Haley has extensive experience and production on special teams. He's our pick to make the roster and contribute in 2018 out of the slot.

    Davon Grayson, WR, ECU
Grayson, 6-foot-2 and 174 pounds, caught 135 passes for 1,767 yards and 13 touchdowns over 37 games while averaging 13.1 yards per catch.

    Spoiler anzeigen

Grayson signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent after the conclusion of the 2018 NFL Draft, according to NJ Advance Media.
Grayson fits the bill of every single wide receiver the Giants privately met with during the pre-draft process.
He's a big-bodied wide receiver (6-foot-2, 199 pounds) with big-play ability down the field as a deep threat.
Grayson averaged 13.1 yards per catch at ECU and finished with 135 receptions for 1,767 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns during his 37-game career.
While Grayson didn't have quite the production of former Pirate draft picks Zay Jones and Justin Hardy in college due to injuries, the Suffolk, Va., native was always looked at as a potential draft pick. When on the field, Grayson was productive.
As a senior in 2017, one year after missing the entire 2016 campaign with a back injury, Grayson finished with career-bests in receptions (59), receiving yards (886) and touchdowns (six).
It was a quality bounce-back season for the receiver, who looked as if he was going to enjoy a breakout year in 2016 alongside Jones and enter the draft in 2017.
Instead, the back injury put things on hold after a 2015 campaign where he caught 33 passes for 448 yards and three touchdowns.
As a true freshman in 2013, Grayson's career started with a bang, catching three touchdowns against Old Dominion in his first collegiate game.
He ended up making 18 receptions for 176 yards and four scores before a knee injury cut his rookie season in college short.
As a sophomore in 2014, the lingering knee injury showed some side effects with Grayson's game. He started 10 games but reeled in only 25 throws for 257 yards for the season.
But Grayson's 6-foot-1, 199-pound frame makes for an ideal build of an NFL receiver, and he impressed scouts at the NFL Combine and ECU's Pro Day with his crisp route-running and hands.
Grayson turned in sold test results at the NFL Combine, recording a 4.51 40-yard dash, 19 repetitions on the bench press and a vertical leap of 34.5 inches.
NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein is a fan of Grayson's game tape.
"Grayson has the athletic ability to get some separation in tight quarters and may have the ability to work all three levels of the field," Zierlein wrote, via NFL.com.
Zierlein added that he flashed intriguing ball skills and competitive on his 2017 game tape.

    Tyrell Chavis, DT, Penn State
The Giants signed Penn State defensive tackle Tyrell Chavis to an undrafted free agent contract on Monday.
Chavis finished his senior season with 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.

    Spoiler anzeigen

Chavis is a massive defensive tackle who signed with the Giants, per Penn Live.
Chavis played in all 13 games last year, netting 19 tackles (6.5 for loss) and three sacks to go along with two pass breakups and three quarterback hurries -- these stats courtesty of Penn Live.

    Tae Davis, LB, UT-Chattanooga
The Giants signed linebacker Tae Davis out of UT-Chattanooga, according to the school's Twitter page. He had 74 tackles as a senior in 2017.

    Spoiler anzeigen

The UT-Chattanooga llecoge Twitter page Tweeted out Davis signing with the Giants. Davis had 74 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and a pass defensed during his 2017 season.
It was his first season at linebacker after converting from safety. The 6-foot-1 and 224-pound defender is a fit for the Giants' new defensive scheme in a hybrid role as a bit of an undersized linebacker by NFL standards.
Davis arguably had his best game against the Power 5 Conference LSU Tigers where he had 13 tackles.

    Evan Brown, C, Southlake Carroll
The Giants are bringing in SMU center Evan Brown. Brown checks in at 6-foot-3 and 307 pounds.

    Spoiler anzeigen

Brown (6-foot-3 and 307 pounds) could provide competition for Brett Jones at the center position in camp. He signed with the Giants, per Charean Williams.
Brown started all four seasons in college, with two coming at guard and two at center. He turned heads with an absurd 36-inch vertical at the SMU Pro Day.
Gates' athelticism could translate to untapped potential the NFL level.

    Stephen Baggett, TE, ECU

    Spoiler anzeigen

Baggett signed with the Giants as UDFA, according to 247Sports ECU reporter Stephen Igoe.
Baggett was not used very often in the ECU offense as the scheme called for him to be more of a blocker than receiver, but he proved at his Pro Day that there is a lot of upside to work with.
Baggett is an outstanding athlete -- make no mistake about it. At his Pro Day, he ran a 4.50 40-yard dash despite weighing in at 250 pounds.
Baggett also has the size to eventually become a red zone threat 6-foot-5.

    Jawill Davis, WR, Bethune Cookman

    Spoiler anzeigen

Davis signed with the Giants, according to his agent, OTG Sports.
Davis is an athletic burner who reportedly ran a 4.37 40-yard dash and could immediately help the Giants on special teams while working his way into a role as deep threat wide receiver.
Davis is 5-foot-11 and 176 pounds.

    Thomas Sirk, QB, ECU

    Spoiler anzeigen

Per The Observer, Sirk has signed with the Giants. The 6-foot-4 and 235-pound quarterback had his best season in 2015, when he threw for 2,625 yards and 16 touchdowns.
He then tore his ACL for a second time and missed the entire 2016 season before transferring to ECU.

    Rookie Minicamp Tryouts

    Dajaun Drennon, DE, North Carolina
New Jersey native Dajaun Drennon tweeted over the weekend that he'll be heading to Giants rookie minicamp.
Drennon, 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, posted 125 total tackles with 15.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks over four seasons in Chapel Hill.

    Spoiler anzeigen

The New Jersey native has signed with the Giants, as he Tweeted from his official account on Sunday. Drennon played defensive end at the collegiate level, but at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds,
they could see him best fit to compete at outside linebacker in the new 3-4, 1-gap defensive scheme.
Drennon is a New Jersey native who had a productive career at UNC that included 125 total tackles, 5 sacks, and 15 1/2 tackles for loss.
During his 2017 season, Drennon led the UNC defense with nine quarterback hurries, including two that came against Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson.

    Rob Martin, RB, Rutgers
Rutgers' running back Robert Martin, who is 10th in program history in career rushing yards (2,256) and seven in career yards per carry (5.04), will have a rookie minicamp tryout with Giants.
He led Rutgers in rushing yards in 2015 and 2016 before splitting the job with Ravens-bound Gus Edwards.
The running back with the 10th-most rushing yards in the history of Rutgers football will get a chance to latch on with the Giants, as announced on Twitter
    by Rutgers Football's official account.
He racked up 2,256 rushing yards and the seventh-best yards per carry average (5.04) in Rutgers history.

    Mal abwarten.
