The team announced on Friday that they had parted ways with offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, coming in a statement from head coach Jason Garrett. Garrett said in the statement the decision was mutual.

"So this is how I remember saying goodbye to Bilbo," [a raccoon he had as a kid] Leach wrote. "He wandered 10 yards away or so from the truck, and then he turned and looked at us and kind of had this expression like, 'It was nice knowing ya.' It was this moment where like, both I knew and he knew that we’d had some good times, but this was it. It was onward and upward for both of us."

It’s a logical guess that the next offensive coordinator will be expected to develop a strong rapport with Prescott, who has worked with Linehan for the
    entirety of his pro career.

That will undoubtedly unfold in the coming weeks. The Cowboys’ front office will spend time at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., next week, along with the vast majority of the NFL coaching world. Their coaching staff is also working next week’s Pro Bowl, which is another hotbed for NFL networking.

There’s also the possibility the Cowboys promote from within – a strategy they have favored in recent years.

  • :bounce::bounce::bounce: wurde auch Zeit.

“As (head coach) Jason (Garrett) expressed, we met on Wednesday and had a good, direct talk. At the end, we resolved that a fresh start was probably best for both of us.
“The Dallas Cowboys have been nothing but great to me, first class all the way. There’s a reason that they are the most valuable sports franchise on the planet. And I’ll always respect Jason as a coach and I consider him a good friend. I’ll miss my fellow coaches and my players a great deal. But life is about change and growth, and I very much look forward to my next challenge.”

Alles Gute.
