    Chris Mara ist offensichtlich degradiert worden.

    The New York Giants are shaking things up significantly in the front office. After allowing Dave Gettleman to retire and Joe Judge being relieved of his duties, ownership made tremendous changes to spark a resurgence.

    Bringing over Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll from the Buffalo Bills was a great start, but alleviating personal decision concerns seemed to be a priority as well. In fact, the Giants changed Chris Mara’s title from “senior vice president of player personnel” to “senior personnel consultant.”

    This indicates he won’t have much of a say when it comes to personnel decisions, leaving the big ideas to Schoen and Co.

    Chris is a partial owner of the Giants along with his family members. John Mara’s nephew, Tim McDonnell, has now been elevated to the top of the player personnel category. NFL teams are normally scattered with nepotism, but the Giants have been a more extreme case in recent years, which has impacted their decision-making.

    The New York Giants have signed second-round WR Wan’Dale Robinson and fourth-round S Dane Belton, according to Ian Rapoport.

    This wraps up the Giants’ 2022 draft class with all picks under contract.

    Robinson, 21, was named Second Team All-ACC in 2021 and was also the MVP of the 2022 Citrus Bowl. He spent two years at the University of Nebraska before transferring to Kentucky. The Giants used the No. 43 overall pick on him in the 2022 NFL Draft.

    Robinson is projected to sign a four-year rookie deal worth $8,185,156 that includes a signing bonus of $3,132,840.

    During his college career, Robinson had 185 receptions for 2,075 yards (11.2 YPC) and ten touchdowns. He also rushed 141 times for 691 yards (4.9 YPC) and four touchdowns.

    Belton, 21, is from Tampa, Florida, and was named First Team All-Big Ten in 2021.

    During his three years at Iowa, Belton appeared in 30 games and recorded 112 tackles, one sack, five interceptions, one forced fumble, and 10 pass deflections.

    Größtes Fragezeichen für mich sind die CB‘s.

    A. Jackson war ne solide Nr. 2 letzte Saison, aber wenn er regelmäßig gegen die Nr. 1 des Gegners spielt, hab ich Bauchweh. Sicher hat der Bursche Potenzial. Mal sehen ob er mich positiv überraschen kann.

    Den 2. Outside Spot wird wohl letztjähriger Rookie A. Robinson übernehmen. Der ist ja sehr physisch, mal sehen. Wird sicher aber auch einiges an Leergeld zahlen.

    Mit dem im Hinterkopf ist es umso wichtiger, dass wir selbst offensiv mal was hinbekommen. Und da wäre es wichtig, wenn Jones mit seinen Anspielstationen eine gewisse Chemie hat. Die haben sich alle letzte Woche oder so in North Carolina auch privat getroffen. Wäre schon gut wenn man davon wegkommt, alle Hoffnungen auf die Defense zu legen. Die alt bekannten offensiven Probleme waren ja Redzone und konstant den Ball zu bewegen. Mal sehen ob neu Coach Daboll direkt Verbesserung schafft.

    Bei den Rookies bin ich am meisten auf den TE Bellinger gespannt. Der hat in Mini Camp schon gut auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. Man sagt ja immer, dass TE‘s eine gewisse Zeit brauchen. Er war ein 4th Round Pick, die Erwartungen sind also überschaubar aber wäre schön zu sehen, wenn man hier einen „echten“ TE gefunden hätte.

    Als vor nicht all zu langer Zeit meine Lieblingshelme zumindest einmal in der Saison zu sehen waren, kommt es jetzt noch besser.

    LETS GO GIANTS

    sehr coole Jerseys, aber doch kaum anders als die von Mitchell & Ness, so eins habe ich im Schrank hängen und liebe es. Geile Optik und toller Stoff.

    Ich fand die Spiele immer schön, wenn wir die Throwback Trikots anhatten. Es waren in den letzten Jahren ja meist die weißen. Immerhin Kleinigkeiten über die wir uns freuen können/konnten. Die Resultate und meist auch das, was spielerisch geboten wurde, war ja dann nicht ganz so :wink2:

    The New York Giants have yet to officially take the field for the start of training camp, and already, the team has a surprise injury to report.

    The team announced Thursday that the rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger, projected as the team's TE1, was placed on the physically unable to perform list. Bellinger is dealing with a quad ailment, the severity of which is unknown.

    Approximately 25 Giants rookies and select players reported to camp on Tuesday, July 19. It's unclear when or how Bellinger's quad issue developed.

    Bellinger was drafted by the Giants in the fourth round, pick No. 112 overall this past April, and just recently signed his rookie contract. He fully participated in the spring practices, including the OTAs and the mandatory minicamp, and looked impressive as a route runner and receiver, a role he didn't do much of at San Diego State.

    His showing had people thinking he might leapfrog over veterans Ricky Seals-Jones and Jordan Akins for the Giants' TE1 spot.

    It's unknown how much time, if any, Bellinger might miss in training camp once the team reports in full next week. Giants head coach Brian Daboll isn't scheduled to speak to the media this week.

    The New York Giants made several roster changes early this week, headlined by the signing of veteran safety Andrew Adams.

    The team signed four players and cut four players ahead of training camp, looking to inject some more competition at specific positions.

    New York Giants signed:

    S Andrew Adams

    Adams spent the first two years of his career with the Giants in 2016 and 2017. He spent the last four years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning a Super Bowl. He made 14 appearances last year, totaling 24 combined tackles and four passes defended.

    DE Nick Williams

    Williams is a 6’4″, 310-pound interior defender. He spent the last two years with the Detroit Lions, playing in 17 games last season at 31 years old. Williams recorded 27 combined tackles with four tackles for a loss and two quarterback hits.

    WR Marcus Kemp

    The Giants also signed wide receiver Marcus Kemp, who has experience with Mike Kafka during his time in Kansas City. Kemp made 16 appearances last year for the Chiefs at 26 years old, recording 24 yards receiving. He will be a competitor on special teams, at the very least.

    OT Kamaal Seymour

    Kamaal Seymour has no NFL experience but is a New York native at 26 years old. He was placed on the non-football injury list last year after spending time with the Las Vegas raiders. The Giants recently cut Korey Cunningham from a reserve tackle spot, so Seymour will have an opportunity to battle.

    WR Travis Toivonen

    DB Maurice Canady

    The Giants cut several veteran players that would’ve acted as depth. Canady is the most interesting given how thin the Giants are at cornerback behind Adoree Jackson.

    Big Blue is set to start training camp on Wednesday and we’ll have a few new players in the mix, but there are plenty of opportunities to land roster spots.

    Giants activate rookie TE Daniel Bellinger off PUP list

    Soon after rookies reported to New York Giants training camp last week, first-year pro Daniel Bellinger was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP) due to a quad injury. The G-Men received good news regarding the tight end on Wednesday.

    Geht ja schon wieder gut los mit den Verletzungen. Ob Nick Gates überhaupt wieder zurückkommt?

    Bevor ab Montag die Pads angezogen werden, kurz ein paar Eindrücke der ersten Woche, die ich so in Artikeln und podcast aufgeschnappt habe und hauptsächlich ohne O- und D-Lineman/ LB/Edge, da ohne Pads und Vollkontakt es wenig Sinn macht da irgendwas zu sagen.

    Defense

    - Slot CB Holmes hat bisher eine richtig gute 1. Woche mit zahlreichen TO's hingelegt, etwas überraschend, wenn man zu erst denkt, hmmm DC Martindale bevorzugt Man coverage CBs und Holmes Stärke liegt nun ganz klar eher in zone und im antizipieren von plays, Aber höre ich als jemand der ihn hier im Mock draft auch zu den Giants geholt hat, natürlich trotzdem gerne. :mrgreen:

    - CB Robinson solide, mit stärken in man und schwächen in zone,

    - Unsere beiden Top D-Liner Williams und Lawrence werden sich wahrscheinlich nicht über zu wenig Spielzeit beklagen und die meiste Zeit auf dem Feld sein. Eventuell teilweise auch in 2 man D- Line Front Formations.

    - Safety McKinney wird weiter mehr Verantwortung übernehmen

    -Edge Elerson Smith scheint ganz nach dem Geschmack von unserem neuen DC zu sein und könnte eventuell ein Kandidat sein der uns diese Saison helfen könnte

    - Edge Thibodeaux gefällt mir immer mehr je mehr ich ihn zumindest in den Interviews sehe. Aber auch in den ersten Trainings macht er wohl schon einen guten Eindruck

    Offense

    - Tja, es scheint wohl so zu sein, dass OC Mike Kafka viel von den Chiefs playbook mit einbringen darf und bisher weiterhin die Playcalls macht

    - das heisst, wir bekommen wohl endlich mal eine modernere Offense Philosophie :thumbsup:

    - viel pre snap motions, Barkley als Receiving option in motion und in the slot, genauso unser 2nd Rd. WR Robinson, der schon früh auf sich aufmerksam macht

    - Toney könnte eine großartige Saison bevor stehen, dass einzige was ihn davon abhalten könnte, ist seine Gesundheit.

    - WR Golladay, mit dem ein oder anderen drop und es wird interessant sein, wie er in das Scheme passen wird.

    - WR Slayton struggles, too many drops

    - WR Richie James mit der No. 80 macht anscheind auch positiv auf sich aufmerksam und könnte uns zumindest im Special Team als returner am ANfang der Saison verstärken.

    - QB Jones mit einer wohl eher durchschnittlichen Woche mit ups and downs, aber da will ich wie bei allen anderen zuvor erwähnten oder nicht erwähnten jetzt noch nicht zu viel rein interpretieren.

    Hauptsache die Jungs kommen gesund durchs Trainingscamp und der Preseason. :bier:
