    Der Bengals Offseason Thread fehlt noch. Und vielleicht fehlt auch bald Gresham in Cinci. Freiwilliger Weise.

    Gresham is extemely strong and from all reports is a good teammate but his movements are somewhat robotic and he has not shown the athleticism expected coming out of the University of Oklahoma. The Enquirer also points out Gresham's "inability to play through injury" and "continued mistakes with fumbles and penalties." The Bengals have third-year TE Tyler Eifert waiting in the wings and theoretically ready to take on a much larger role in the offense.

    Also ich würde Gresham wirklich vermissen bei uns, aber mit Eifert haben wir zumindest sportlich wirklich einen guten Ersatz.

    Unsere Baustelle scheint wohl allmählich die QB-Position zu werden, wenn sie es nicht schon ist. Leider hat man das Gefühl, dass Andy Daltons Entwicklung stagniert bzw. gar rückläufig ist. Er ist sicher ein solider Arbeiter auf dem Feld, keine überragenden Skills, und menschlich scheint er auch ein netter Kerl zu sein, aber für das was er verdient muss man eigentlich viel mehr erwarten, zumindest eine positivere Entwicklung. Wenn er Zeit hat, funktioniert Dalton recht gut auf dem Feld, aber gegen D# die ihn attackieren und Druck machen wirkt er fahrig und trifft oft schlechte Entscheidungen. Es fehlt ihm da wohl die nötige Stressresistenz...

    Wobei er immerhin diese Season ein oder zwei Primetime Spiele gewinnen konnte. Und ey, immerhin waren die Bengals zum vierten mal in Folge in den Playoffs.

    Aber ich bin mit dir einig. Für das was er verdient leistet er deutlich zu wenig. Vorallem wird er ja nicht nur für die RS bezahlt sondern auch für die Playoffs. Und dort spielt er einfach zu schüchtern.

    Aber wer soll ihn beerben? McCarron? Campbell? Da ist Dalton schon die beste Option. Auch für die nàchsten Jahre.

    Wünsch ihm viel Glück dort, depth wird der Grund sein für das signing. Die Bengals nehmen sich wohl ein Beispiel an ihrem Thread hier im Forum: immer schön ruhig in der free agency. Hab über die noch keinen einzigen Bericht gesehen über irgendwas die letzten Tage (gibt vielleicht noch 3 oder 4 Teams in der NFL wo auch nix "mainstream" wurde). Sollen sich mal nen Beispiel am Washington Professionel Football Team nehmen und hinter jedes signing einen anderen Teams hinterherrufen "wir haben dem auch ein sehr gutes Angebot gemacht!" So bleibt man im Gespräch :mrgreen:

    Für Hawk ist es zudem ein Homecoming. Er ist gerade mal 70 km von Cinci in Kettering auf die Welt gekommen. Passt also perfekt und was schöneres als für 'sein Team' am Ende der Karriere spielen zu dürfen, dürfte es für Hawk kaum geben. Glückwunsch! :)

    Ich bin mal gespannt ob Hue Jackson aus dem nochmals/wieder was rausholen kann :ja: .

    Zwar nur eine Randnotiz: Bengals signen QB Terrelle Pryor. Damit sind Hue Jackson (der ihn im Supplemental-Draft für die Raiders gezogen hat) und Pryor wieder vereint. Und Buckeye Pryor ist zurück in Ohio.

    Die Bengals haben Devon Still entlassen, zahlen seine Krankenversicherung aber für die nächsten fünf Jahre.
