    Ich habe nichts von Callaway gesehen. Kann also nichts zu ihm sagen. Ab jetzt bin ich wohl insgesamt raus und kann zu 90% der Spieler nichts mehr sagen.


    Wie gesagt : High risk, high reward..

    Ich bin wirklich kein Spießer und(fast) jeder hat eine 2.Chance verdient...
    Wir dürfen aber nicht jedes Fehlverhalten pauschal unter "bisschen Gras" verbuchen :

    Calloway failed a drug test at the #NFLCombine, was suspended for 2016 spring practices (sexual assault charge but was cleared after Title IX investigation), no contest plea to possession drug paraphernalia in July 2017, suspended for 2017 season for using stolen credit card.

    #Browns had a high grade on LB Genard Avery. Fantastic value, surprised they didn't take him a round or two earlier.

    I wouldn't be surprised at all if he challenges for a starting spot as a rookie.

    Avery wurde hier im Mock an #140 vom 12er zu den Colts geholt.

    Zu need - driven ist schlicht ein Alptraum.
    Man pick einen (extrem ausgedrückt) schlechten Spieler, weil das Roster da eine Lücke aufweist.
    Dafür lässt man einen sehr guten Spieler auf dem board, weil man eventuell nicht schlecht besetzt ist via Roster.

    Wie gesagt : Das Beispiel ist mit Absicht sehr extrem umschrieben und top - Teams kommen erst gar nicht in diese Situation

    Louis und Higgins bleiben mir mit nichts in Erinnerung, was mich sportlich traurig stimmen würde bei einem cut.

    Was absolut interessant wird : Komplett neuer QB-room. Mal sehen, wer mit wem besonders harmoniert.

    The Browns have completely stumped me. I didn't have Simeon Thomas in my top-600 rankings. We talk to several teams, and no one has ever mentioned him. This has to be a reach, or maybe the Browns have some super-secret intel no one else has.

    Deswegen auch Corbett realitiv früh : Guard mit Tackle - Erfahrung.

    Kurzfazit zu Day 3:

    Mehr als zufrieden. Mit Callaway in First-Round-Talent, welches jetzt der Coaching Staff zum Profi machen muss. Genard Avery ein toller LB in diesen späten Runden, der den erhofften Depth auf LB bringt. Und dann zweimal Roulette mit SPARQ. I like it - sogar einen Tick mehr als Day 2, einfach weil hier der Value eher stimmt.

    Jetzt nach Hue´s PK macht Corbett mehr Sinn. Man wird die O-Line komplett austesten, da ist ein versatile O-Liner schon sinnvoll. Würde mich nicht wundern wenn er startet auf LG nachdem Bitonio auf LT steht.

    CSI Browns wird das schon richten. Mit Sheriff Dorsey und den Agenten Jackson, Haley und Williams. Im Ernst: Entweder ist Dorsey wirklich so ein harter Hund und bügelt sowohl intern als auch extern das Image gerade, oder ist neben Hue der nächste Egoschaumschläger in the making. Ich hoffe auf Ersteres und bin auf Zweiteres vorbereitet. Die frühen Phasen der FA waren begeisternd und das Gefühl hat seitdem stark nachgelassen und bei mir nach der Draft ein Zwischentief erreicht. Bei einem OBJ Trade hatte jeder auf die Gruppendynamik mit Gordon hingewiesen und dann holen wir uns über die Draft das gleiche Potential ohne bisherigen Leistungsnachweis auf den Roster. Wir stellen die Skillpositions (berechtigterweise) auf den Kopf. Dann aber konsequent. Entweder Barkley oder sonst die Defense mit Chubb aufwerten. Für mich ist die Draft das Wunder von der Brot und Fischevermehrung. Die Analytics wurden auch befriedigt.

    Grundsätzlich bin ich, obwohl kein Fan, doch mehr als gespannt, wie ihr euch schlägt. Und wünsche euch endlich ma alles Gute. :)

    Nach dem ersten Rutsch der UDFA´s sind auch zwei durchaus interessante Spieler dabei:

    • OT Desmond Harrison - West Georgia - 6-6, 292 lbs. (Source)
    • OL Erick Wren - Oklahoma - 6-2, 308 lbs. (Source)

    Das Harrison undraftet geht hatte ich nicht erwartet. Rein sportlich gesehen hatte ich ihn in der 5.Runde gesehen. Gute Addition.

    Über das sportliche Talentlevel gibt es nichts zu diskutieren...

    Bzgl Callaway: Ich hoffe sehr, das ihn der Draft gepusht hat und einen zusätzlichen Motivationsschub gab. Wenn es „nur“ ums kiffen geht, dann finde ich das ehrlich nicht so wild, die anderen Dinge, die man so über ihn liest, finde ich aber absolut nicht vertretbar.

    Kann man nur hoffen, das er sauber bleibt. Ich würde nämlich viel lieber Schlagzeilen über seine Aktivitäten auf dem Feld statt vom Drumherum lesen!

    Ich will mich nicht groß in eure Euphorie einmischen, aber auch wenns "nur" Kiffen ist, würde mir ehrlich gesagt Sorgen machen, dass jemand bei der Combine positiv testet. Das ist eben einer der wirklich ganz wenigen Offseason-Termine, an denen jeder davon ausgehen kann, dass er da getestet wird oder auffallen kann. Selbst wenn man es als Spieler nicht weiß, der Agent wird es einem mitteilen, dass man in den Wochen vorher vielleicht mal darauf verzichten sollte. Dass er trotzdem durchgerasselt ist, wirkt auf mich, als ob er nichts aus seiner Vergangenheit gelernt hätte. Die Ausrede mit der Schmerzbehandlung kann er ja mit seiner Suspendierung kaum bringen. Bei dem späten Pick ist das Investment natürlich überschaubar, aber ich würde das Talent erst feiern, wenn er es auch in einem zählenden Spiel aufs Feld schafft.

    Habe es in einem anderen Thread schon geschrieben: ich finde euren Draft wirklich gelungen. An #1 & #4 Mayfield und Ward ist natürlich mutig, aber meiner Meinung nach passen beide mit ihrer Leaderahip Mentalität hervorragend zu den "neuen" Browns. Auch von Antonio Callaway bin ich begeistert, all der Off Field Issues zum Trotz. Der Typ kann ein richtig starker Receiver werden. Genau wie Nick Chubb hat der für mich Round 1 - Talent.

    Mir bleibt nur zu sagen: Chapeau, liebe Browns! :)
