Daher glaube ich aktuell auch eher einer Jane Slater, die näher am Team dran ist und sagt, dass es im Moment in Dallas diesbezüglich keine Überlegungen für einen Trade gibt. Nicht, weil man nicht bereit wäre einen First-Round-Pick zu opfern (den 3. Runden Pick bekommt man wahrscheinlich allein durch Byron Jones nächstes Jahr schon wieder rein), sondern weil aktuell die Gehaltsstruktur (die sich noch verschärfen kann,wenn die Cap nächstes Jahr deutlich gesenkt wird, was nicht ausgeschlossen ist) das einfach nicht hergibt.

    Auf alle Fälle müsste man sich erst mit Dak über eine Vertragsverlängerung einig werden, bevor man diesen Trade machen kann.

    Bin da ganz bei aikman. Das Problem ist halt die anstehende Verlängerung von Adams. Er wird mit ziemlicher Wahrscheinlichkeit der bestbezahlte Safety der NFL und der Capspace ist eh schon eng bemessen, sollte er tatsächlich nächstes Jahr gesenkt werden wäre der Move Selbstmord.

    Insgesamt ist der Trade für einen zweimaligen Pro Bowler und All Pro Safety der gerade mal 24 Jahre alt ist natürlich überaus fair und gut. (First und Third)

    Ich bin da auch bei aikman, alleine der Trade ist nicht das Problem sondern wenn es um den neuen Vertrag geht.

    Der Vorteil da waren die deutlich besseren klimatischen Bedingungen - In Dallas ist es im Sommer bekanntlich sehr, sehr heiß.

    War ja zu erwarten, beim Verhalten der USA Regierung im Allgemeinen und der Spieler im Besonderen. Da fehlt halt das Verständnis. Das Zeke nicht verfügbar ist kennen wir ja von seinem Holdout. Ich möchte keine neue Diskussion anstoßen, aber ich brauch ihn nicht.

    Ich wünsche ihm und allen betroffenen Spieler natürlich, dass sie die Erkrankung gut überstehen.

    Nicht verfügbar sein? In der Regel sollte er in 2-4 Wochen wieder voll zur Verfügung stehen (bei normalen Krankheitsverlauf)
    Und die Diskussion ist natürlich müßig... es wird viele geben die sagen sein Vertrag war zu teuer etc... ich gehöre zu der Fraktion die sagt er ist unser bester Spieler und dementsprechend brauchen wir ihn natürlich für eine sehr gute Saison.

    Aber du hast schon Recht, das Verhalten der Regierung und teilweise auch der Spieler ist sehr suspekt. Bin gespannt ob und in welcher Form es dann die NFL Saison gibt.

    Darüber habe ich mir auch schon Gedanken gemacht, aber bis September ist ja noch ein wenig Zeit.

    Damit wäre ein Holdout dann erstmals vom Tisch und es bleibt noch ein knapper Monat um einen langfristigen/mittelfristigen Vertrag auszuhandeln.

    Das ist doch bei den meisten Spielern in der FA so und in seinen Alter schaut man wo man die meiste Kohle bekommen kann. Noch einmal dick abkassieren solange es noch geht.

    Ist ja auch keine Wertung gewesen und kann ihn absolut verstehen. Und mit den Ravens hat er ja auch keine schlechte Wahl getroffen.

    Wäre zwar schön gewesen wenn es mit E. Thomas geklappt hätte, doch die Cowboys konnten oder wollten ihn nicht so dicke bezahlen.

    Mit den Ravens hat Thomas ja durchaus noch die Chance noch einmal sich einen SB Ring zu holen.

    Dak hat den Franchise Tag Tender unterschrieben!

    Ich freue mich, dass Dak Prescott weiterhin bei den Cowboys spielt und vor allem, dass er den Franchise Tag akzeptiert. So schlecht wird er dadurch ja auch nicht bezahlt und vielleicht gelingt auch noch eine Einigung.
    Ansonsten traue ich ihm durchaus zu seinen Marktwert mit einer weiteren guten Saison nochmals zu steigern. Er ist auf jeden Fall ein pragmatischer Typ, der eine klare Position hat, aber diese auch nicht überzieht und mit Holdout usw. agiert. Langfristig wird er damit sicher ein Gewinner sein.

    Kann jetzt wieder diskutiert werden wie gut Dak ist bzw. ob er besser als Wentz ist? ;)

    Das ist natürlich eine gute Nachricht für die Cowboys. Bin echt gespannt auf die nächste Saison mit neuem HC. Das Talent im Roster ist einfach zu gut für 8-8 oder 9-7. Und gerade jetzt wo es 7 Teams in die Playoffs schaffen müssen eigentlich auch die Cowboys einer dieser Teams sein. Alles andere wäre schon eine Riesen Enttäuschung

    Wie erwartet fällt das Hall of Fame Game aus. Gut so! Soll 2021 nachgeholt werden. Meh.

    Clowney würde unseren PassRush auf jeden Fall enorm aufwerten. Die Frage ist aber, können wir uns ihn überhaupt finanziell leisten? Das lässt sich wohl erst nach der hoffentlich baldigen Verlängerung von Dak beantworten. Aber ohne einem enormen finanziellen Entgegenkommen von Clowney sehe ich da wenig Chancen.
